Born and raised in southern Alabama, I grew up on the beach with a camera in hand. My love of photography as a child led me to start my own portrait business in high school. After graduation I went on to pursue my craft and moved 700 miles away from home to study photography.
Originally, I was studying to be a portrait photographer, but everything changed when I bought a photograph of two gondolas on the Grand Canal in Venice, at the Las Olas Art Fair. Seeing that photograph everyday hanging in my bedroom, inspired me to want to travel to Venice, so I started planning my first trip abroad and the rest is history.
That summer I backpacked to Italy and Greece along side my childhood best friend. We learned very quickly how to read a map, ask for help in Italian, and pack all our belongings in a backpack. I spent an extra two months traveling around Europe completely solo and knew upon returning home I would pursue a life of both photography and travel.
I graduated from The Art Institute of Fort Lauderdale in 2012 and began my career as a photographer onboard Norwegian Cruise Line. I cruised through Alaska, the Caribbean, Mexican Riviera, New England and the Hawaiian Islands. I worked for months at a time and literally woke up in a new destination everyday. However, that wasn’t enough for me. During my vacations I also travelled to Europe and Asia and continued to build my portfolio of images.
Now at 28 and 33 countries later, I’ve settled down on the beautiful island of Oahu. Living in paradise is unbelievable and everyday is a new opportunity to create. I hope my art adds a little pop of color to your home and a spark of wanderlust in your soul.
